All eyes on Singapore as the world’s biggest corporate golf tournament makes its mark, with local communities at its core.

Singapore, 10 July: The World Corporate Golf Challenge Singapore (WCGCS) is set to soar to new heights as Independent Reserve (IR) – Singapore’s first licensed cryptocurrency exchange for all investors- comes on board as Presenting Sponsor.

This year marks a fresh chapter for the Singapore edition of the world’s most prestigious corporate golf tournament, where golfing fun meets purposeful impact through collaborative charity efforts. In partnership with IR and their adopted charity, Extra•Ordinary People, the event will unveil a new commemorative logo designed by Genine Tham, an artist with Global Developmental Delay at Extra•Ordinary People’s Creative Lab.

Based on Genine’s original art piece titled “SOAR”, the new logo will depict the WCGCS logo alongside the wings of IR’s logo through a collage, embodying the power of diversity and community.

Founded in 2017, Extra•Ordinary People empowers children and individuals with special needs, helping them thrive as inclusive members of society. In support of their mission, more than 15 per cent of all flight sale proceeds will be donated directly to the IPC-registered charity, with corporate buyers enjoying 250% tax rebates on their contributions.

“Beyond corporate sponsorship, we see ourselves bringing like-minded people together and turning shared values into something bigger. Golf has always been close to my heart. The sport instils resilience, patience and mateship. The kind built on trust and showing up for each other. These are precisely the values that guide how we support our community and our partners every single day”, said Lasanka Perera, CEO of Independent Reserve Singapore.

“We are delighted to bring together Shannon Tan and Extra•Ordinary People at the World Corporate Golf Challenge. A national golfer embodying excellence and resilience, and a charity driving lasting impact — this is our way of giving back. We’ll keep opening doors and igniting meaningful connections that help the community soar, both on and off the course,” he affirmed.

“I am deeply honoured to have Independent Reserve join us as Presenting Sponsor for the World Corporate Golf Challenge Singapore. Their commitment goes beyond traditional sponsorship. From championing inclusion through their support of Extra•Ordinary People, to Lasanka’s passion for the sport, and the admirable presence of top national golfer Shannon Tan – their involvement brings immense value to the event. It also reflects our shared passion and dedication to excellence, purpose, and community,” said Benny Teo, Managing Director of sports marketing agency Blazon (Pte. Ltd.) and the Singapore Executive Partner of WCGC.

UNITING COMMUNITIES, INSPIRING CONNECTIONS

The WCGCS tournament tees off on August 28 at the legendary Singapore Island Country Club’s (SICC) Bukit Course, offering companies a shot at global glory and elite networking on an international stage.

On event day, a live auction conducted by Master Auctioneer Shaun McEwan will feature iconic memorabilia from the worlds of sport, politics, and entertainment, including items linked to Elvis Presley, Nelson Mandela, and Jack Nicklaus. Proceeds from the auction will also go to Extra•Ordinary People, with tax rebates extended to winning bidders.

Additionally, local social enterprise Coco Veda will offer participants a curated selection of their natural coconut-based health and wellness products. Crafted by an all-women team in the Philippines and sourced sustainably from smallholder farmers, a portion of all retail proceeds will also support the charity.

DEALS, DRIVES AND DYNAMIC CONVERSATIONS

Ahead of the main event, two exclusive networking activations will set the stage for deeper engagement. Kicking things off is a unique collaboration with 5 Iron Golf, the cutting-edge indoor golf simulator brand.

As part of the “double-deal”, corporate teams who purchase a flight at WCGCS Singapore will also receive complimentary entry into the global Fall 25 League, held at 5 Iron’s high-tech facility on Cecil Street — all for the same S$3,000+ package price.

Next, a week before tournament day, selected guests will be invited to a special networking evening at the new BOSS Store at Ngee Ann City. The highlight of the evening will be a fireside chat featuring Lasanka Perera, CEO, Independent Reserve Singapore and Steven Lam, Managing Director, Southeast Asia and Travel Retail Asia Pacific at HUGO BOSS.

Guests at the BOSS Store will also get the chance to meet Singapore’s top female professional golfer, Shannon Tan, fresh off her second win on the Ladies European Tour at the Amundi German Masters. Sponsored and supported by Independent Reserve, Tan will engage directly with participants at SICC through various fringe activities.

A GLOBAL STAGE FOR CORPORATE CHAMPIONS

Founded in 1993 in partnership with The Times (UK), the World Corporate Golf Challenge (WCGC), which spans over 30 countries, has become a global platform for corporations to forge powerful internal and external connections through golf.

Each year, national champions from around the world gather for the WCGC World Final, held at some of the most prestigious destinations – from Scotland’s Loch Lomond to South Africa’s Fancourt, Spain’s La Manga, and China’s Mission Hills.

This year’s global finale lands in Shanghai, with the champions teeing off at the Dongzhuang Beach Golf Club and enjoying luxury hospitality at the Pudong Shangri-La, from October 19 to 23.

Finalists will compete in teams of two across three days: a practice round, followed by two competitive rounds — Greensome format in Round 1 and Four-ball, Better-ball in Round 2. Happening concurrently, the iconic Sporting Legends Cup will bring together over 50 legendary athletes from around the world to compete in an am-am tournament alongside sponsors, partners, and guests, creating unmatched networking opportunities.

To earn their place at the World Final, amateur golfers must first qualify through national events held in their respective countries. In Singapore, the tournament is open to all locally registered corporates, associations, and institutions. Teams of two may be selected internally or formed with partners and clients, making it an exceptional platform for business development through sport.

Hugo Boss will sponsor the winners at this year’s WCGC with a tuxedo suit each when they attend the black-tie gala event at the World Final in Shanghai.

Independent Reserve presents the World Corporate Golf Challenge Singapore, which is officially sanctioned by the Singapore Golf Association (SGA) and organised by Blazon (Pte. Ltd.). The Official Lifestyle Media is Robb Report, and Official Golf Media is Golf Asia.
